Big Kids - Season 1

Parents are parents and kids are kids -- that's how it's supposed to be. That's how it was in Kate and Simon's Family -- until their parents begin having mysterious spells of childishness. Even worse, when they snap out of it, they blame the messes they've made on their kids! What on Earth is happening?

Mom and her piano student are watching cartoons. Dad keeps laughing at his patients. And Kate and Simon don't DARE have friends over. How can they live normal kid lives when they always have to act like their parents' parents?

Poor Kate and Simon not only get the blame for the trouble their parents make, they also get grounded, and their sleepover party is cancelled. Then they hit on a way to show Mom and Dad who is really behind all the mess. It's a foolproof plan -- that is, until Simon's friend Jake gets involved...

Saturday afternoon, and they're off to town. Kate and her friend Becky go shopping for some hot threads. Simon and Jake have plans of their own. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad search the library for clues for their problem. Hey -- isn't the library a place for quiet, civilized behavior?

Can they behave themselves in a restaurant? No, not the kids -- Mom and Dad! Simon is especially worried, because Melanie is sitting on the other side eating with her family... and guess who has a big crush on her?! If Mom and Dad can just manage to hold on...

It's not fair! Simon gets to go to the concert, but Kate has to stay home because she's too young and a girl! Parents can be so unreasonable! When they're grownups, that is. Once Mom and Dad morph into teenagers, it's a different story, though. Kate just might get her night out after all...

It's a holiday, and the last place Simon and Kate want to spend is in a stuffy museum looking at a boring rare music manuscript. But Mom insists, and off they go. It promises to be a pretty dull affair -- until Max the Delinquent shows up, and Dad decides to take on the ramp of death...

Oh no, it's a visit from crabby Great Aunt Muriel! And she will simply not stand for childishness at the dinner table -- especially when it comes from grownups. But after Great Aunt Muriel storms off in a huff, Kate makes a surprising discovery...

Kate has chicken pox but Simon has something worse: exams. If he doesn't pass, he can forget the big family vacation: but when dad turns into a kid on the way to deliver a baby, Simon faces a test much, much bigger than any French exam!

While Simon and Dad watch the football game, Kate and Mom are off to the pet shop. Mission: Fresh straw for Sammy the hamster. What Kate really wants, though, is a puppy. Only, there's no way Mom and Dad would ever allow it, at least not as grownups...

Simon wants to ask Melanie to the dance. But there's one thing standing in the way: Melanie's boyfriend Karl. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad have turned into teenagers and are about to have a lover's quarrel as Kate gets closer and closer to solving the puzzle...

They've got it! Simon and Kate Have figured out what the trigger is for their parents shenanigans! The trouble is, they don't know how to cure it. And with parent-teacher confrences comming, they'd better be careful...

Kate and Simon had better hurry. If they don't want to spend their entire lives keeping Mom and Dad from turning everything upside down, they'll have to find Ming the Hypnotist... and quick...
