John Perry is arrested for the murder of Howard Armstrong. He is engaged to his niece Julia, who asks Mark Saber for help. Housekeeper Mrs. Frost worships Armstrong and wants Perry to hang. She later admits Armstrong committed suicide.

Ross the Jewellers received an uncut diamond from Wainwrights worth £50,000. They polished it and courier, Jessica Roberts was taking it to Jonathan French to be cut. A car pulls up and a man steals the diamond. Mark Saber is called in.

When a new bride feels uneasy in her husband's home, he confesses that this place holds unhappy memories of his first wife. Later, the man is found dead.

Sam Hawtrey falls down a flight of stairs leaving him paralised. Acme Insurance Company believe he is faking but are willing to pay £2,000 in good faith. Hawtrey turns the offer down so Acme boss Mr. Robinson calls Mark Saber to find out.
