Matt discourages Elliot from burning the diary to protect Allison. Rita buys a book to teach herself about style and beauty. Ada approves of Rita and Norman dating. Paul and Leslie argue about Leslie's possible involvement in Elizabeth's death. George visits Leslie at the Mill, offering to pay back his medical expenses, but their conversation turns to animosity when George learns Leslie paid the bills to end Betty's marriage to Rodney. After the confrontation with Leslie, Paul offers an angry George a ride home.
