Inbound Troubles

SOPHIA decides to put SUM up at home, to which YEE is strongly opposed. Despite YEE’s objection, SOPHIA is not going to change her mind. YEE’s younger sister CHI-CHING is currently out of town, so SUM is advised to put up at her bedroom tentatively. YEE asks SHAN to take care of SUM alongside the rest of the tourists, while he himself will have to get disguised in shabby clothes before meeting the bankruptcy administrator. The bankruptcy administrator concerned is going on maternity leave very soon, and YEE’s case will be taken over by another official named SUNG WAI-CHIU. CHIU considers that YEE’s shabby appearance is so full of flaws that it cannot truly reflect his financial status. YEE runs into FEI again but the pair get trapped in the lift shortly afterwards. CHING forces the tourists to stay in a jewelry shop in an industrial district, but SUM just manages to get the holidaymakers out of the shop by stratagem.… ...

CHING throws a hard object at YEE, but it is SHAN who ends up being injured. CHING refuses to forgive YEE and goes off in a huff. SUM wonders how YEE has gone bankrupt, so SHAN points out what has happened to YEE and CHING over the years. SUM and SHAN proceed to discuss how to help CHING. SHAN believes that the only way out is to expose another big scandal in order to distract the public and the media. YEE comes to visit BING-BING and her son, both of whom are new immigrants from China. He offers to treat them to a free day trip around Hong Kong, but is thought by FEI to be trying to con them all over again. CHI-CHING returns home in the middle of the night and is shocked to see SUM resting inside her bedroom. CHI-CHING’s classmate NIP SIU-SIN inadvertently mentions the graduation ceremony, causing SOPHIA and YEE to probe for every single detail of the event.… ...

YEE and CHI-CHING have had a terrible quarrel and not been on speaking terms for quite a while. Having got fined all over again, and caused his cousins to fall out most violently, SUM finds himself extremely useless and decides to return to China. On his way home, SUM faces the prospect of being fined again, but he is lucky enough to have met FEI who manages to save him from the predicament. SUM is so impressed with FEI’s thoughtfulness and friendliness. MAN sees SUM off at the train station, where they happen to hear MUNG LO singing in public. SUM finds LO’s voice so beautiful that he is totally captivated. As a token of thanks to SUM for his generous help, LO agrees to give him singing lessons. Now that he has got a brilliant singing teacher, SUM decides to stay in Hong Kong. YEE discovers that SUM has peeped into CHI-CHING’s diary.… ...

LO encourages CHI-CHING to take part in the 18 District Amateur Singing Contest, which is due to resume soonish after decades of suspension. LO explains that only group entries are accepted in the contest and that she is more than willing to train SUM and his mates for the championship. YEE gives a street beggar some money but will need him to lend a sympathetic ear in return. Such a scene is fortuitously caught by FEI who passes by. YEE arrives at the community center to pick up SOPHIA, during which he runs into FEI again, who claims to have come up with a way to solve the misunderstanding between him and CHI-CHING. FEI points out that CHI-CHING is no longer a little girl and that YEE should not have interfered too much with her love life. KIT gets fined three times in a row upon his arrival in Hong Kong. Even worse than that, he is mistaken for a kidnapper by a group of locals.… ...

SUM supposes LO is only a fan of his mother, but KIT’s sudden appearance at LO’s residence has really taken him by surprise. SUM is desperate to stay in Hong Kong. He needs YEE to help convince KIT, or else he will disclose YEE’s secret to SOPHIA and CHI-CHING. LO gets a call from Uncle YIU-MING asking her to perform on a cruise liner. She is so happy about the job that she accepts the invitation right away. CHING is going to organize a “4D Sex & the Cushions Tour” for the mainlanders, and will need YEE to help purchase the movie tickets and get the special freebies for the upcoming lucky draw. SOPHIA suggests having dinner with CHI-CHING’s boyfriend at home, to which YEE does not have any objection. CHI-CHING is happy to see that YEE has kind of accepted her boyfriend. CHI-CHING invites CHIU to dinner at her place, but CHIU cannot make it as he is going to LADY GWA-GWA’s series of concerts over the coming few nights.… ...
