The Bachelor

In the premiere episode, we meet the Bachelor, Alex, and learn about his past. Alex then hosts a cocktail party and is introduced to the women for the first time. By the end of the evening, he faces the daunting task of selecting 15 whom he would like to know better, and presents each one with a single red rose. But at this point and at every point thereafter, the women can either accept or decline the Bachelor's invitation to continue on the journey. After much deliberation, Alex offered a rose to Kim, Cathy, Trista, Amy, Alexa, LaNease, Tina, Angelique, Rhonda, Christina, Katie, Amanda, Angela, Melissa and Shannon. The women who accepted the rose will now move into a sprawling mansion overlooking the Pacific Ocean for much of their courtship with the Bachelor.

First Date: Angelique, LaNease, Shannon, Kathryn, Christina Alex's first date was to Las Vegas for a night of gaming and pleasure. While playing billiards in the penthouse suite at the Venetian hotel, Angelique made a power move and asked to see Alex in private. When the other four ladies realized that Angelique was out-smarting them, they crashed the party. During dinner, Alex asked Shannon if she would go for a walk with him — in front of his other shocked dates. During their walk, Alex told Shannon he felt a connection with her. Alex and his dates then went and played Blackjack in the casino; the date with the most money after twenty minutes would get a private gondola trip down the Venetian canal with Alex. LaNease won, and as they got in the gondola, the gondolier told them that it was tradition to have a kiss under each bridge they passed under. We meet Alex's friends Stephanie and Sam, who move into the guest house at the Ladies' Villa. Stephanie and Sam have created a compatibility test to give the remaining eight ladies, with a very special prize: the three women whose answers are the most compatible with Alex's will get private one-on-one dates with Alex. The other five women will share Alex in one group date. First Date: Amanda Amanda won the first date, and the sparks were very clearly flying. In the limousine on the way to their Sushi & Massage date, Alex and Amanda just couldn't deny their mutual attraction, and ended up making out. During dinner, Amanda and Alex again kiss passionately, but are interrupted by a shocked and bewildered waitress. Later, they both change into Kimonos, and Alex gives Amanda a sensual massage. Alex makes a point, though, of not going to far with Amanda sexually, as he is aware that living for the moment may cause him to miss an entire future. The remaining four Bachelorettes all get a chance to say goodbye, as they vacate the Ladies' Villa to return to their hometowns and introduce Alex to their families and friends. First Trip: Kim Knowing he hasn't spent very much one-on-one time with Kim, Alex arrives in Phoenix, Arizona and makes a point of getting some private time with her … and the two go speed boating on a lake! They had a great time, and even managed to sneak in a kiss or three. Afterwards, it was on to Kim's parent's house to meet the family. Alex got to spend time with Kim's mom, dad, two sisters, brother-in-law, niece and nephew. It was important to Kim to see if Alex connected well with kids, which he seemed to — up until he accidentally made her nephew cry by playing with him a little too rough. The rest of the visit was pleasant, as Alex seemed to connect well with his date's family. This special episode will reveal new footage, never before viewed behind-the-scenes clips, and one-on-one interviews between our favorite Bachelorettes and host, Chris Harrison.

In the season premiere, we get to meet Aaron again, and learn what motivated him to take his quest for love on to television. As Aaron puts it, ""the timing couldn't be better."" Aaron claims he is a full 180-degrees from Alex, the first Bachelor, and will not be misleading like Alex was. Aaron admits he would have liked to have seen a proposal from Alex, and when Chris asks him, Aaron says several weeks from now, he could see himself popping the question. Aaron is then introduced to each of the 25 Bachelorettes, as he welcomes them to the first night party. As Alex makes the rounds, Erin points out that Liangy and some of the other girls have really isolated themselves from the group. The ladies sit down with Chris and are told that a personality they took during the application process for the show was actually a compatibility test, to see who is most compatible with Aaron. The three women who are the most compatible will get individual dates with Aaron, and the other three will share him on a group date. First Individual Date: Heather Spa Evening in Santa Barbara The other ladies are surprised when Heather gets the first date box, as they don't see Aaron and Heather together. Aaron expects that she will be very forward and try to kiss him, based on what she said in the previous night's video diary. They take a helicopter up to Santa Barbara, and Heather is smitten by Aaron — she says that she finally knows what love means. As the four ladies prepare to take Aaron home to meet their families, they must also say goodbye to each other and move out of the Ladies' Villa. Meanwhile, even as relationships are growing stonger, Aaron must present roses to only the three women he would like to continue dating. The ladies are greeted by Chris, who gives them a chance to say goodbye to each other and the Ladie's Villa, as they are moving out. The individual dates will begin with Aaron flying to each ladies' hometown to meet their parents. First Trip: Buffalo to meet Gwen Aaron meets Gwen, and they drive through Buffalo on the way to meet her parents Marie and Phil, her sister Mary Beth, and her friend Louise. When they sit down, Marie takes out a list of twenty questions, all of which Aaron answers quite deftly. Phil says he can see walking down the aisle to give Gwen away to Aaron. Andrew will meet the 25 women ving for his affections and choose his 15 to continue with on this eight week journey.

The fifteen remaining bachelorettes move into ""The Ladies Villa"" together as Andrew gets to know them better during three group dates. Each group date will include five women where they will have to fight for alone time with Andrew. Then, five ladies are sent home as Andrew continues his journey with the remaining ten.

A compatibility test selects Andrews three one on one dates while the remaining three women play tennis on a group date. Then Andrew must choose four women proceed to the next round.

With the addition of many new elements to the show — including a surprise appearance by the Bachelor's mother at the first rose ceremony and an unexpected ""in the field"" rose ceremony during one of the dates that sends one woman home on the spot — The Bachelor returns for a fourth season! "The Bachelor: Rome," the ninth season, begins an all new adventure as Prince Lorenzo Borghese meets the 25 women who will compete for his affections.

Lorenzo takes some of the women to the Mediterranean sea for a beach party, some through the city of Rome to see the sites and one gets the first individual date in Borghese Park. Nine bachelorettes move on to the next round.

Lorenzo takes one women to a romantic date at the opera, six to a sleep over pool party in a Tuscan castle and two back to his place for an intimate date over pizza. With nine women left, only six will be asked to stay.
