Ko Chung Ching (Michael Miu), an ex-policeman, quit his job to set up a private investigation company two years ago, right after his son Tsun Sing went missing because of a slap while Miu was searching for the "Rose Killer". His subordinates include Man Kai Ching Super (Power Chan), Man Tai Po (Bernice Liu) and Lam Yan Yan (Vivien Yeo).Kenneth Ma plays the cop who takes on Miu's "Rose Killer" case. Ching works and carries on looking for Sing. He meets Lai Siu (Melissa Ng) the manager of a group of part-time actors. She learns by chance that she was involved in Sing's disappearance, and as such feels guilty, so agrees to help find Sing. She uncovers a few clues and finds out Sing's disappearance is connected to Sing's divorced wife and good friend Lau Kwok Wai (Wong Chi Yin). Ching is shocked by the truth...

Constable, KO CHUNG CHING, receives information that the serial killer, nickname “Rose Killer” frequently haunts a certain building. When CHING takes his colleagues to follow the case, he meets his son, KO TSUN SING, on the way. SING asks his father to play the game of ‘police-and-thief’ with him; CHING scolds him in anger because he is on official business to make arrest; the ‘Rose Killer’ is alerted as a result and he escapes. When CHING returns home and he tries to celebrate SING’s birthday, his son is nowhere to be found. It seems that his son evaporates into the thin air. Two years later, CHING divorces his wife, HO YEE MAN; he also leaves the Police Department and sets up a private detective office. MAN TAI PO and LAM YAN YAN, the subordinates of CHING, disguise as massage girls; they successfully obtain the criminal evidence against the targeted person. After knowing that SIU has seen SING on the day of his missing, CHING hurries to look for her to dig out more information. Unexpectedly TSAU uses a child actor to play the role of SING; CHING is disappointed and leaves. Out of mistake, TSAU drops the pair of sport shoes in the street; the sport shoes that CHING bought and intended to give SING as birthday gift two years ago. KWOK CHING, the grandpa of YAN, comes to the detective office for seeking help, hoping that the detective office can locate his missing sport shoes that he lost 25 years ago. Actually, KWOK CHING was “Golden Right Leg” of one of the Hong Kong football teams in those days. Ever since he lost the pair of lucky sport shoes, he became unlucky and discouraged in his football life. As a result, SING was so scared that he did not return home; CHING blames himself. SIU acts in the bathing scene to replace a movie star, Ann; SIU meets Joey, who she has once seen before and who is an expert in drawing sketches. Ann is strangled to death while Joey is in coma. After CHING takes the Chief Inspector, KOON CHING WAN, to the room for investigation, CHING suspects that Rose Killer has kidnapped SING for revenge. Joey regains consciousness and she talks about what has happened, but she is unable to describe the culprit’s features; WAN is disappointed. When SIU plays the substitute role in the movie once again for Ann, the ghost of Ann appears, making SIU very scared. For detecting the killer and for locating SING, PO follows WAN to Sophia Cafe. SAU WAH, the elder sister of WAN and the boss of Sophia Cafe, mistakes that PO has a good feeling on WAN; WAN is embarrassed while PO cannot help but laughs.… ...

Joey wants to die together with SIU, while CHING and WAN rescue SIU in time. Joey falls off the building, injuring her brain and becoming a living dead. CHING is very agitated, questioning further from Joey for the whereabouts of SING. WAI advises CHING to give up looking for SING, while CHING says he wants to find a good doctor in mainland China to cure Joey. After having received call from WAH in tears, WAN hurries to Sofia Cafe; there he comes to know that a burglary has taken place. WAH asks WAN to look for the missing safe, not allowing him to report the case to police. WAN secretly reads her diary and he finds there are blank pages inside. WAN requests CHIU and others to look for the safe; PO even pretends to be WAN’s girlfriend to get close to WAH. PO and WAN discover that WAH does not write diary, but she writes to communicate with someone. CHIU eventually locates the safe.… ...

MAN thinks that SING has a misfortune; she is so heart-broken that she collapses and is sent to hospital. When MAN wakes up, she accuses CHING instigates the killer to have SING killed; CHING feels guilty for this. WAN comes to private detective office to hire PO and her colleagues in order to check out who is WAH’s secret lover. PO has already known that WAH’s lover is FONG KA SHUN, a rich merchant; PO asks TSAU to find a temporary actor to pretend to be SHUN; PO also tells WAH to play a separation act with the “pretended” SHUN in front of WAN. WAN highly comments PO for her efficiency in the investigating job, wondering why she does not join the police; PO puts on a long face on hearing this. TSAU does not understand why WAH loves SHUN in such a way that she does not care for the marital status; WAH answers that she has a great satisfaction as she understands SHUN better than his wife, KONG LAI PING.… ...
