The four contestants, all from Swindon, are: Mark Farrow, who believes men are better cooks, business manager Sarah Louise Moore, ethnic Filipino Imelda Smith, and spiritualist Annette Storey, who calls upon her angels whenever she can.

Five nights in London begin with landscape gardener Greg, who describes himself as "mediocrity personified". His Spanish-inspired menu produces grumbles when there's a wait between courses, and there's also friction between the guests.

The five contestants not only sum up their competition, but all have strong opinions on who they like and don't like. Hugo Preece is second on the list to host the dinner party. He is feeling a bit worse for wear after the long previous evening, but he soldiers on. His menu consists of foie gras and poached pear as the starter, Alaskan salmon and mint peas the main course, and a banana flambé with red wine and lavender sorbet for dessert. Besides the controversial topic of the foie gras and the fact that one of the diners has never eaten Britain's national dish of fish and chips, most of the conversation occurs post meal, when the diner's talk about their continuing like and more dislikes of the fellow diners. But they do have strong opinions about the quality of Hugo's meal, and score accordingly.

Sabrina Ghayour is third on the list to host the dinner party. She is quietly confident and wants now more to win if only to beat those she doesn't like. Her Persian inspired menu, true to her own ethnic heritage, consists of Arabian mezze platter as the starter, spiced rack of lamb with pomegranate sauce as the main course, and rose water & cardamom poached pears with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. Beyond discussion of the food, the diners become increasingly open about their fellow diners. Some admit to changes in the perception of the others, but one feels like the outsider which the others confirm.

"One more night to soldier through, and then the whole ordeal is over." Greg isn't in a positive mood during Amii's turn as host. And while Amii has become closer to Sabrina, Sabrina is forced to mark her down when she's served raw lamb.

Thoby Young is the last of this fivesome to host. The other four have listened to Thoby talk and talk and talk about his knowledge of food during the week, and so he will have to put his meal where his mouth was (as they do not want another dissertation at dinner) to impress. Ethical foodie Thoby hopes that knowing where his food comes from will help make the meal better. His menu consists of buckwheat blinis with smoked salmon and *farmed* (ethical) caviar as the starter, osso bucco with risotto bianco as the main course, and Mr. Tarty's blackberry and apple tart for dessert. He also has an after dinner surprise listed on the menu. The ethical issues of food are again brought to the forefront during the meal. Believing Mr. Tarty will win the day, Thoby soon finds out if that is indeed the case as he announces the winner of the £1,000.

Tara Tasker is the first to host the dinner party. Her menu consists of cream of Arbroath smokie soup as a starter, drunken duck with bramble wine and plum bree as the main course, and Tara's tantalizing trio for dessert. Her game plan is to be as attentive to her guests' needs as possible. True to her self-professed underdog status, she is stressed throughout the cooking process, especially of her main course, which she admits to being terrible in her test earlier in the week. Is the final product any better in her guests' opinions? Beyond the food, the four Scots have a laugh over the one Englishman.

A brand new series of Come Dine with Me starts in Brighton, where first to host is visual artist Pasha du Valentine, who intends to seduce her diners with her 'Lover's Pudding'.

In Cheltenham champagne socialite Cathy, lady-of-the manor Vanessa, straight-talking Janice, and Alex, the quartet's only male, battle it out for the culinary prize.

In south east London cheeky chappy Terry, glam pub singer Ita, eccentric artist Jon, and well-to-do retired businessman Oliver take turns to host.

Charity worker and chatterbox Louise takes on Tracy, whose collection of religious memorabilia startles her guests, retired banker Rob, and estate agent Zac, who produces a menu consisting of dishes he has invented himself.

In Herts, Perry Jones believes twenty years hosting dinner parties will see him win. But a menu including two tins of chicken soup poured over chicken breasts leaves everyone scratching their heads. His rival hosts are the fiercely competitive dentist, Amit Koshal, food snob Kelly Hatt, and 'diamond-gastronomic-geezer' Heath Reid.

First to host is full-time mum Lydia Jones. She's opted for some French recipes that, although tried before, she's never had any success with. Her guests' responses aren't ideal: dental nurse Donna tries to work out what a canard is; hairdresser Marcello is convinced that Lydia is serving grated toast; and artist Anthony is confused by every course. As the evening starts, Ramsgate's 'most stylish man' Marcello wastes no time offending everyone he meets with cutting comments about their appearance. So, will Lydia manage to smooth the ruffled feathers with her French feast, or will they all just be rowing by the end of the first night?

It's arrogant hairdresser Marcello Marino's turn to entertain in Kent. He's really going to have to turn on the charm if he wants to win, having offended each guest last night, so he's hoping to impress with his Italian/Spanish menu - and salsa dance display. But the sound of his 'Lasagne a la Mia Mamma' main doesn't quite inspire his guests, and his starter leaves nearly everyone stumped as to what it is. The guests are amazed at what they find when they snoop around Marcello's bedroom and the risqué artwork on his walls. And, though the atmosphere is better than the previous night, the evening is destined to take a turn for the worse, leaving the host in a bit of a state. Can Marcello turn things round with a salsa dancing intermission? Or will his guests see through his veneer of vulnerability and go for the kill?

It's day three on the Kent coast and the host, Margate girl Donna Grieves, is hoping to impress with her locally sourced ingredients and a best-of-British menu. Unfortunately for Donna, Italian hairdresser Marcello is proving hard to please and, after yesterday's near-perfect manners when he was host, he's immediately back to his bad old ways. Anthony's attempt to lighten the mood with a startling revelation doesn't help matters, and things go from bad to worse when Donna gets all emotional over some news of her own. As Donna grows tired and weary, her dessert hits the deck, leaving one guest to eat pudding off the floor - much to Marcello's amusement.

Day four in Kent and experimental artist Anthony Wait is hosting. In truly alternative fashion, he's opted not to practise his cooking beforehand and just see what happens on the night. He also hopes to get his guests interested in his new art project, which uses body parts. Marcello spot-checks the house for dirt and dust, which upsets one of the other guests and causes a row. But Anthony has plotted revenge on the lippy hairdresser, and plans to make the troublemaker squirm with embarrassment. Will Anthony's improvised food prove a hit with his guests and give him a chance of grabbing the £1000 prize, or will their creative differences prove too hard to swallow?

It's the final night in Kent, and building boss - and confirmed foodie - Chris Newbold has the last opportunity to grab the prize. But he's also determined that Italian Marcello won't spoil the evening with his usual insults. Armed with a few choice words and a sophisticated, international menu, Chris hopes to impress his guests and keep Marcello in check. However, leaving much of his cooking until the guests are seated, Chris is taking quite a risk. And will Marcello's attempt to sweeten the others with gifts to win them over, or will they finally tell him exactly what they think? This is Chris' opportunity to win the £1000 prize, but only if he pulls off his challenging menu and impresses the pickiest guest of all.

One of the funniest episodes of Come Dine with Me, this features the hilarious antics of mayoress Carol Stinton, perma-tanned hairdresser Jonny Kemp, spiritualist Sue Hartley and the plumber with Victorian values Nick Holt.

Four glam footballers' other halves are putting down the shopping bags and picking up the utensils, as they battle to win the culinary cup in Come Dine With Me WAGs Special The gloves are off and the heels are on, as the wives and girlfriends prove they're more than just pretty faces. First up is Jude, wife of French striker Djibril Cissé, who puts the other girls to the test by serving up a 'papaya salad'… made from cucumber. Chantelle Tagoe, missus of England striker Emile Heskey, is as keen to show off her shoe collection as her cooking, while the centerpiece of Jessica Lawlor's evening is her decadent décor, including a flotation tank and television built into her bed. Meanwhile, Jenny Powell fears that Pat has become much too interested in her chest, and then her meal ends in a food fight with Jenny covered in cream!

In this special edition all the contestants - or should that be housemates? - are former Big Brother winners. Stepping up to the plate are series 2 winner - quick-witted, cheeky Irish chappy Brian Dowling; Big Brother 5 champion - passionate, Portuguese Nadia Almada; 2007 winner - Essex wide-boy Brian Belo; and 2009's gorgeous victor - glamour model Sophie Reade. The week starts with Brian Dowling, who quickly regrets presenting a rather easy menu. Nadia makes it clear from the outset that she is going to be quick with the criticisms and is less than impressed with some of Sophie's dopey comments (she asks if potatoes grow on trees) or Brian's uncouth behaviour. On night two Nadia is convinced that she's going to win with her authentic Portuguese menu. It's not long before conversation turns to this week's hot topic - breasts - and an eye-watering anecdote from Nadia leaves everyone shocked. Brian Belo plays host on night three and there are farcical scenes as the novice chef attempts to prep his ambitious menu, and yet more flirting between Brian Belo and Sophie, culminating in a cheeky kiss. On the final night 'stranger to vegetables' Sophie hosts, with a minimal menu and an even more minimal outfit. At the table, Sophie shows her latest bikini photos to the group, much to Brian Belo's delight. The dinner ends on a sour note, however, when Nadia vents her spleen at a shell-shocked Brian Belo. But which of the popular Big Brother winners will be crowned the Champion of Champions and win the £1,000 charity prize?

The guests are bowled over by the authenticity of Steph 1940s-styled home, but the biggest surprise of the evening is the quality of the food, which goes down a treat despite the day's shenanigans in the kitchen. For entertainment Steph lays on some 1940s dancing, which goes down even better than the food. The evening is brought to a close when Damian asks if Steph's ditziness is for real, and gets an answer that leaves nobody in any doubt.

International DJ and Jack-the-lad Scott Langley has taken a massive gamble and decided to serve fried pigeon for his main course. His dress code is 'outrageous,' and the guests go to town with their outfits.
