The friends reunite to turn what was once just a dream into a reality. As Ami and three world-class tattoo artists open up a tattoo shop in Miami's South Beach called Miami Ink, the four friends and apprentice Yoji, hope to build a thriving business.

As the business grows, the guys of Miami Ink struggle with the pressure of balancing their personal life and work

Ami and crew deal with changes and transformations in their lives and relationships, including the wedding of Yoji to his fiance Bridgette when they get married in a beautiful ceremony on the beach.

While the gang adjusts to the responsibility of owning their own business, a list of celebrity clientèle wait months for their turn under the needle with the masters.

Yoji slowly learns the ropes, but still has a way to go before he can tattoo. Also: a former member of rock band Skid Row gets tattooed with his kids' names.

Yoji and Brigette's daughter is born.

Darren has to be careful doing a tattoo for a man with type 1 diabetes, Nunez gets a little out of control with spending, Kat tattoos a man's daughter's portrait, and Ami creates a winged penny design for a woman in remembrance of her father, who believed in the value of saving pennies.

Former apprentice Yoji Harada, now a full-fledged member of the design crew, joins Ami in doing simultaneous tattoos for a pair of best friends. One customer gets a cartoon version of herself, and another asks for a Buddha design to help cover up a scar from scoliosis. A woman with no tattoos comes in to apply for the shop manager position.

Nunez designs a tattoo to honor a woman's soldier father, a graffiti artist has a tattoo created from her own artwork, and Garver makes a Japanese-style snake design for a local club owner.

The crew tests the latest applicant for shop manager by having a friend poses as a bookie who has come to confiscate Nunez's stuff.

Nunez is having trouble dealing with his mother's surgery. Darren faces change after an important phone call. Ami tries to help with Yoji's communication problem. Meanwhile, Garver struggles with personal issues.

Garver does a tattoo of a Spanish skull for one woman. Another gets an image of an Asian woman. But newcomer Kat is feeling left out.

An artist from New York City, Miss D'Jo, gets a tryout as Kat's replacement. She and Chris work on a family portrait with a film theme. Meanwhile, Darren creates an impressive phoenix to symbolize customer Humberto's rebirth after a troubled childhood.

Garver agrees to paint a piece of art to hang in a model home. Yoji gives Jasmine and Ali matching tattoos to show how much they are in love with each other. Meanwhile, Nunez tattoos a real-life mermaid.

Ami must get on board with Nunez idea of finding a new shop for Miami Ink, due to unforeseen chaos, and Darren's unexpected return from an extended vacation brings joy to the shop.

Miami Ink's new manager Dre, needs to pass her certification test before she can work at the shop. Darren announces he has a new fiancé and that she is pregnant with his child.

Ami offers to babysit so that a frazzled Yoji can spend a day at lunch with his wife, but finds it hard to relax.

Yoji comes down with a nasty skin condition, needing medical attention. Garver tries his hand at fixing Yoji up, but the job calls for professional assistance. A mysterious odor overtakes the shop, and the guys put Baby Dre on the job.

Ami teaches an art class at Miami Children's hospital and brings the kid's drawings to life through animation. Baby Dre takes Yoji shopping for some tight, tight jeans and Ami and Nunez can hardly believe the results.

The crew's on the move. Ami, Nunez, Darren and Dre head out to Cape Canaveral to see the space shuttle launch, discovering that traveling in an RV isn't exactly \"luxury!\"They almost miss the launch because Nunez points them in the wrong direction!
